It was exactly that profound query which the design workforce of Ujoo + Limheeyoung started to contemplate when crafting “Track From Plastic,” a tool able to enjoying again makeshift data inscribed into discarded items of plastic.
“After tens of hundreds of years have handed, the sound of an extinct existence comes from plastic fossils found by future clever life,” the duo writes. Although it is an unsettling, massive image view of humanity’s legacy, “Track From Plastic” can also be a reminder of what makes humanity particular.
In distinction to the shallow plastic “fossils” we’re forsaking, the artists sought to outfit the discarded waste with atypical on a regular basis sounds and snippets—like youngsters laughing and joyful singing—that showcase the intense aspect of human existence. The sounds have been embedded into the surfaces of discarded meals packaging, cordless telephones, casings for digital units and extra.
